A red tower crane has emerged in East Hollywood, where developer Skya Ventures is now midway through construction of a new multifamily residential complex near the intersection of Fountain and Vermont Avenues.
The project, located on a .31-acre property at 1317-1325 N. New Hampshire, will consist of a seven-story building featuring 92 studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments above 64 parking spaces on two basement levels.
Using Transit Oriented Communities incentives, Skya entitled the site for a larger, denser development than allowed by local zoning rules. To achieve the larger project, the project will set aside 11 apartments as deed-restricted affordable housing at the extremely low-income level for a period of 55 years.
Designed by KFA Architecture, the project is portrayed in a rendering as a contemporary low-rise structure with an amenity deck located above the third floor. Approved plans also show other common open spaces such as a rear yard, a courtyard, a rooftop deck, a community room, and a gym.
A now deactivated project landing page on the KFA website previously stated that completion of the apartment complex is anticipated in 2022.
Skya Ventures, which is in Reseda, is also behind plans for a smaller multifamily housing development with ground-floor retail space in the Highland Park - Garvanza neighborhood.
