Eight months after breaking ground in Pico-Union, an Art Deco-inspired affordable housing complex from non-profit developer West Hollywood Community Housing Corp. is starting to take shape just south of Olympic Boulevard.

Mariposa Lily, located at 1047-1055 S. Mariposa Avenue, will consist of a seven-story structure containing 41 studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments - half of which are to be reserved for formerly unhoused residents - above parking for eight vehicles.
Designed by HED, the building's Art Deco-inspired exterior will consist of painted plaster and aluminum panels. In addition to housing, the project will include amenities such as a fitness center and an outdoor deck.
According to a June 2020 staff report to the California Tax Credit Allocation Committee, the $25.4-million project will cater to households earning at or below 30 and 60 percent of the area median income level. Rents are expected to range from $591 to $1,757 per month.

Completion of the apartment complex is anticipated in October 2022.
West Hollywood Community Housing has developed a handful of similar projects in Central Los Angeles, including Berendo Sage, a similar affordable and supportive housing complex now rising five blocks east, and the recently-completed Elden Elms apartments at Pico Boulevard and Elden Avenue.
