Two months after receiving the approval of the Los Angeles City Council to build a mid-rise office tower on Sunset Boulevard, developer Hudson Pacific Properties (HPP) has unveiled an official name and new details for the project.

The proposed 15-story building, slated for a current parking lot at 5901 Sunset Boulevard, has been dubbed Epic.  The project would offer approximatley 274,000 square feet of office space above parking for 830 vehicles and 26,000 square feet of ground-floor shops and restaurants.

The potentially LEED Gold certified building, designed by Gensler, would be highlighted by a series of landscaped terrace level's along its northern facade.  Plans also call for a features such as bike storage and electric car charging stations.

Epic is a follow-up to HPP's $200-million expansion of the Sunset Bronson Studios campus, which will soon be home to the Los Angeles headquarters of Netflix.

HPP has not announced a timeline or budget for the project.
