Elevation plans pulled from the Department of City Planning offer a first glimpse of Greystar Real Estate Partners' proposed mixed-use development in the Arts District.
Earlier this year, the South Carolina-based firm filed plans for the seven-story development, which would replace an office building and an adjoining surface parking lot at 330 S. Alameda Street. The completed project would offer 186 live-work apartments, in addition to 22,000 square feet of retail space and 402 parking spaces.
Santa Monica-based VTBS Architects is designing the project, which would employ a facade of brick veneer, percast concrete panels and metal.
Greystar's development emerged in the midst of a flurry of new proposals for the Arts District, which has previously grown through the adaptive reuse of vintage warehouses.
One block south, a boutique hotel is planned for a vacant 108-year-old building at 4th and Alameda Streets.
Two blocks east, construction is underway on the 472-unit 950 E. 3rd Street development.
