Roughly six months after our last update, wood framing is now complete for a mixed-use apartment complex from LiveWorkCreate on the border between Pico-Union and Koreatown.
The project, located at the southeast corner of Olympic Boulevard and Kenmore Avenue, replaced a commercial building and single-family home with a new seven-story edifice featuring 126 apartments atop ground-floor retail and a parking garage.
Designed by EWAI, the finished product is depicted in a rendering as a contemporary podium-type building with upper floors wrapping a central amenity deck. Plans call for an exterior of corrugated green and grey panels, accented with white stucco.
At the time the project received a construction loan in April 2020, completion of the building was anticipated in 2022.
The project site was previously slated for the construction of a hotel under a prior ownership group, sold the property in late 2018 for roughly $15 million.
