New housing is being pitched for empty lot at northeast corner of 213th and Main Streets, per an initial study circulated by the City of Carson.
The project, dubbed the Carson Lofts, would rise from a site spanning between 21240 and 21250 S. Main Street. Plans call for the construction of two three-story structures featuring a total of 19 apartments above at-grade parking for 43 vehicles.
NOLO Design is serving as the architect for the project, which would include a mix of two-, three-, and four-bedroom dwellings ranging from 945 square feet to 2,061 square feet in size. Architectural plans depict the project as a pair of contemporary low-rise structures, wrapped with a brick wall.
Pending approval of project entitlements, including a zone change and a general plan amendment, construction of the Carson Lofts is expected to kick off in March 2023 and conclude in July 2024.
Architectural plans list the property owner as Nancy Kim, while city records list a representative of Sagecrest Planning as the project's point of contact.
The development site sits just southeast of the Carson Arts Colony, a similar-sized affordable housing complex built by Meta Housing Corp.
