A corner lot in South Los Angeles is slated for redevelopment with affordable housing, according to an application recently filed with the Planning Department.
Eleos, the developer behind the proposed project at the northwest corner of 57th Street and Broadway, is seeking approvals for the construction of a new four-story building featuring 38 one- and two-bedroom apartments. No on-site housing is proposed.
Requested entitlements for the project include Transit Oriented Communities incentives permitting a larger structure than otherwise allowed by zoning rules.
Architectural plans depict the project, named for its address at 5637 S. Broadway, as a contemporary low-rise building.
Eleos is developing similar affordable housing projects at several sites in Los Angeles, including a 53-unit complex not far away at 47th and Main Streets.
