In February, the Los Angeles City Planning Commission reviewed Florida-based developer Rescore's proposed mixed-use complex in Koreatown.
In late 2015, the Boca Raton-based company filed plans filed plans to construct a residential-retail project at 3525 W. 8th Street, a two-acre site that is currently improved with a shopping center. The proposed development would demolish the existing retail center and construct a seven-story building in its place, creating 367 residential units and 52,000 square feet of commercial space.
Plans also call for residential amenities such as a fitness center and a parking garage for 791 vehicles and 456 bicycles.
Nadel Architecs, a Los Angeles-based firm, is designing the podium-type building, which renderings show would be colored white with flourishes of red and yellow.
A budget and construction timeline are currently unclear.
A staff report recommended approval for the project.
