Next week, the Los Angeles City Planning Commission will consider developer Kwang Kyu Pak's proposal to construct a mid-rise hotel in Koreatown.
The project site, located at 679-687 S. Harvard Boulevard, is currently operating as a surface parking lot. The proposed development calls for a seven-story building on the property, featuring 110 guest rooms, 1,840 square feet of ground-floor retail space and parking for 80 vehicles.
Corbel Architects is designing the mixed-use project, which would be clad with fiber cement boards, sheet metal panels, concrete and porcelain tile. Floor plans show that the building would rap a central courtyard.
The Planning Department has recommended that the Commission grant approval to the project.
A timeline and a budget for the development are unclear.
The property is located immediately south of 3640 Wilshire Boulevard, a residential-retail complex under development by Jamison Services.
