Greenland USA, the Los Angeles-based development arm of the Chinese developer Greenland Holdings Corp., has unveiled "ConvergenceLA," a public art installation at its Metropolis property in Downtown Los Angeles.
Created by local artists Susan Narduli and Refik Anadol, ConverganceLA uses a 100-foot-wide LED screen to create a "fluid piece that uses historic and real-time data to digitally depict the diversity, culture and creative energing teeming in Los Angeles."
A companion website allows visitors to further interact with the piece.
The digital artwork faces the Francisco Street side of the Metropolis property, which is being developed with four high-rise towers featuring more 1,200 condominiums, a 350-key Hotel Indigo and pedestrian-oriented commercial space. The first of the mixed-use complex's three residential towers opened in January, with the remainder expected to open in 2019.
Greenland USA has teamed with Trammell Crow Company on a similar development slated for the park-and-ride lot at Metro's North Hollywood Station.
