The Los Angeles LGBT Center will break ground this Saturday on its Anita May Rosenstein Campus, reports WEHOville.
The low-rise building, designed by Leong Leong with direction from KFA, will offer multi-generational services and 235 units of permanent supportive housing for seniors and homeless youth. It will tie into the existing Village at Ed Gould Plaza through a network of courtyards and outdoor spaces, joining current occupants including two theateres, galleries and office space.
Approximately $35 milllion of the project's total $40 million cost has already been raised, with a targeted completion date of 2019.
After the Rosenstein Campus opens, it will free up space in the existing McDonald/Wright Building for use as a healthcare facility.
