A staff presentation to the Pasadena Design Commission reveals an updated look for a proposed multifamily residential complex which would replace a surface parking lot just south of the 210 Freeway.
The project, first revealed in June 2020, would rise from a site located at 270-282 N. Los Robles Avenue, one block north of Walnut Street. Plans call for the construction of a six-story building which would feature 105 studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments - including eight very low-income affordable units - atop subterranean parking for 161 vehicles.

"The proposed building is designed in a contemporary style with a flat roof, large storefront and aluminum windows arranged in vertical bays, modulated facades, a base capped with a metal canopy and roof terraces and is supported by high quality, modern finishes in neutral colors such as cementitious siding, porcelain tile, wood-like aluminum siding, and stucco," reads a staff report to the Commission.
The project is further described as being compatible with other recent developments in the surrounding vicinity, such as the nearby Theo apartments on El Molino Avenue.

The staff report, stating that the project has undergone revisions which reflect feedback given during an earlier meeting before the Design commission, recommends approval of the project.
As in 2020, Los Angeles County Assessor's records list the owner of the project site as an entity affiliated with Irvine-based California Pacific Homes.
