Just southwest of the K Line's Downtown Inglewood Station, work is now complete for Astra, a new mixed-use apartment complex from developer Thomas Safran & Associates.
The project at 215 E. Regent Street - which spans a city block also bounded by Market Street, La Brea Avenue, and Florence Avenue - consists of a six-story building featuring 242 market-rate apartments above a Target store and a 438-car garage.
Per a leasing website, the apartments at Astra come in a mix of studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom floor plans. Monthly rents are listed as ranging from $2,450 to $5,245.
BSB Design designed the project, originally known as Market Gateway, which is clad in a mix of stucco, tile, and brick facade. In addition to housing, the complex includes amenities such as a rooftop deck, a courtyard, a community room, and a fitness center.
The development site is located across Market Street from a proposed station on Inglewood's automated people mover system, which would complement the K Line and connect with other destinations such as SoFi Stadium and the future home of the Los Angeles Clippers.
Astra may also be a sign of things to come in Inglewood. Directly west across La Brea Avenue, construction is now underway for a similar mixed-use project which will feature 144 apartments above retail.
