Earlier this year, Metro unveiled a new rendering for a proposed a transformative mixed-use development that would replace the park-and-ride lot of North Hollywood Station. While we wait for a potential new skyline in the San Fernando Valley, a number of smaller infill projects are now taking shape north of the station.
5500 N. Klump Avenue
At the northeast corner of Cumpston Street and Klump Avenue, Spector Development Co. is now in the midst of construction for a five-story wood-frame apartment complex. The podium-type building, designed by Sandra J Baik Architects, will feature 84 residential units above a parking garage.
5505, 5514, and 5555 N. Bonner Avenue
One block east on Bonner Street, a trio of five-story apartment buildings are at various stages of construction at 5505, 5514 and 5555 N. Bonner Avenue. Each of the low-rise buildings feature 32 apartments above two-level, partially subterranean parking structures.
11135 W. Burbank Boulevard
One block north on Burbank Boulevard, rebar and concrete are now rising for a new hotel from RSP South Investments, LLC. The four-story building will feature 70 guest rooms, in addition to an underground parking garage and various ancillary uses.
The project is being designed by the Irvine-based architecture firm nKlosures.
