Harridge Development Group's plan to construct a mixed-use complex around Hollywood's iconic Crossroads of the World is moving forward with minor alterations, according to the project's draft environmental impact report.
Slated for four city blocks roughly bounded by Sunset Boulevard, HIghland Avenue, Selma Avenue and the Blessed Sacrament Church, the proposed development calls for the construction of approximately 1.4 million square feet of programmed space, including 950 residential units, a 308-key hotel, 94,000 square feet of office space and 185,000 square feet of shops and restaurants.
As first reported by L.A. Business Journal, the fundamentals of the approximately $500 million to $600 million project are mostly unchanged from plans last seen in September 2016, with residential towers of 30 and 32 stories. However, a proposed hotel building along Highland Avenue has received a slight haircut, with plans now calling for a 26-story edifice.
Architecture firms SOM and Rios Clementi Hale Studios are still attached to the development.
The draft environmental impact report points to a 48-month construction timeline, with completion as early as 2022. However, an official schedule has not been announced.
