This week, the Mid City West Community Council's Planning and Land Use Committee is scheduled to review developer Jacob Stark's proposed residential-retail complex in Beverly Grove.
The project, slated for the current site of a car wash at 411-431 N. La Cienega Boulevard, calls for the construction of a six-story building featuring 96 studio, one- and two-bedrom apartments above nearly 14,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space. Plans call for 9 units of very low income housing, as well as amenities such as a club room, a gym and a rooftop pool deck.
Santa Monica-based architecture firm KFA is designing the podium-type building, which is portrayed as a contemporary mid-rise structure clad with smooth finish plaster and wrapped with exterior landscaping.
The property is located a quarter-mile north of the Beverly Center, which is now in the midst of a $500-million renovation.
