Near the far west end of Hollywood Boulevard, a "colonial Greek revival mansion" built in the 1930s is poised to add new apartments in its backyard.

The project, as detailed in a presentation to the Sunset Square Historic Preservation Overlay Zone Board, is slated for a property at 7922 W. Hollywood Boulevard. Plans call for retaining and restoring the original components of the five-bedroom, approximately 4,300-square-foot home, while demolishing a non-historic rear addition to make way for a new three-story, 12-unit apartment building with subterranean parking for 19 vehicles.

Architectural Resources Group is designing the project, which is intended to mirror the style of the adjoining home, as well as the scale of surrounding properties. The current look for the apartment building reflects changes requested at an earlier meeting of the board.

In addition to housing, plans show a new courtyard space along the eastern side of the building, which would be seated above the ramp to the proposed below-grade parking garage.

Property records list the owner of the site as an entity affiliated with local rental property firm C&S Enterprises.

The property was last sold for $3.1 million in 2014, according to Los Angeles County Assessor's records. At the time, it was reported that 7922 Hollywood was previously the home of interior designer LM Pagano, Wonder Woman actress Lynda Carter, and later an art colony.
