Earlier this year, LBA Realty kicked off work for One Culver, a 1980s office building in Culver City that has previously served as the corporate headquarters of both Sony Pictures Studios and MGM Studios. A new batch of images posted to the developer's website provides a glimpse of what's to come.
The eight-story edifice, located at 10000 Washington Boulevard, features over 230,000 square feet of office space on its upper floors, in addition to an underground parking garage. Its design by the late architect Maxwell Starkman is highlighted by a series of stepped terrace levels and a sloping glass atrium.
Architecture firm Gensler is reimagining the once fortress-like building as an extension of nearby Downtown Culver City, adding new entrances on both Culver and Washington Boulevards. Additionally, plans call for repurposing approximatley 17,000 square feet of One Culver City's ground level as street-fronting commercial space.
White metal panels are now being installed over the building's original stone exterior, and new landscaping is planned beneath its signature atrium. The series of terrace levels are to be repurposed as outdoor decks.
