Villa Esperanza affordable housing debuts at 508 Mission Boulevard in Pomona

At a ceremony held on September 14, Jamboree Housing Corporation marked the completion of Villa Esperanza, a new affordable housing complex in Pomona.

Located at 508-510 W. Mission Boulevard, the project includes 57 residential units - including 10 apartments for unhoused families and eight units for unhoused veterans. The apartments will cater to renters earning between 20 and 60 percent of the area median income level, with rents ranging from $1,419 to $1,967 per month.

Architecture Design Collaborative designed Villa Esperanza, which includes two- and three-story structures as well as 5,700 square feet of community space. Other components of the project include parking for residents and guests, a public plaza, an outdoor kitchen, laundry facilities, a dog park, and a tot lot.

EPT served as the project's landscape architect.

The residents of the complex will have access to supportive services, which will be coordinated by Jamboree, along with Tri-City Mental Health Services, the Pomona Housing Authority, and the Department of Veteran Affairs. Offices for on-site service providers are located within the complex.

Funding sources for the project included $14.6 million in construction financing from Wells Fargo, $13.1 million in tax credit equity, and other government and private sources.
