In advance of its official opening on June 23, the 73-story Wilshire Grand showed off the full potential of its LED-adorned crown yesterday evening.
The video, captured by architectural photographer Hunter Kerhart, shows numerous graphics floating up the tower's spine and around its rooftop sail. The logos of Korean Air and Intercontinental Hotels also make appearances.
Built at a cost of $1.2 billion, the Wilshire Grand officially claimed the title of the West Coast's tallest building last year with the completion of its architectural spire, which reaches 1,100 feet into the sky. The project, designed by Los Angeles-based AC Martin, includes 900 hotel rooms, over 350,000 square feet of office space and 45,000 square feet of shops and restaurants.
