Just off of Sepulveda Boulevard in North Hills, wood framing is taking shape for a new affordable housing complex from Hollywood Community Housing Corp., as shown in a social media post from Brooks + Scarpa.
The Luna Vista apartments, now rising at 8767-8773 Parthenia Place, is being redeveloped with a new four-story building that will feature 73 one- and two-bedroom apartments atop an underground parking garage.
According to a landing page on the Hollywood Community Housing website, Luna Vista will be divided between apartments catering to special needs renters earning up to 30 percent of the area median income level and low-income households earning between 40 and 50 percent of the area median income level.
Brooks + Scarpa's design for the project includes open spaces, an on-site laundry facility, and outdoor gathering areas. A rendering shows a large opening carved into the front facade of the building, providing access to an internal courtyard.
The project is on pace for completion in approximately 12 months, according to the social media post.
Luna Vista is among a handful of large affordable housing developments in the works near the Sepulveda corridor in North Hills, following Meta Housing Corp.'s 356-unit Mission Gateway complex.
