A residential-retail development is slated to replace a strip mall adjacent to Barnsdall Art Park, according to plans filed yesterday with the City of Los Angeles.
The property, located at the southeast corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Edgemont Street, is currently improved with a small shopping center. Per the filing with the Department of City Planning, the existing structure would be demolished to make way for a six-story edifice featuring 101 residential units, 10,000 square feet of retail space and 176 parking spaces.
The .9-acre site at 4850 Hollywood Boulevard was linked to LaTerra Development in a May report from the Real Deal, which indicated that Century City-based firm had recently purchased the site for slightly over $10 million.
La Terra has numerous projects planned or underway in the Los Angeles area, including multifamily residential buildings in Hollywood and Rampart Village.
A similar development is also in the works directly across Edgemont Street.
