More housing is on the way at the sprawling Ponte Vista development in San Pedro, per an application recently submitted to the Los Angeles Department of City Planning.

RC Homes is seeking city approvals to build on a plot near the southwest corner of the specific plan area at 27812 S. Western Avenue, directly north of the Ponte Vista community park. Plans call for the construction of 37 single family dwellings, each of which would features four bedrooms above a two-car garage.

Angeleno Associates is designing the contemporary homes, according to plans included with the planning filing. Elevation plans show a series of three-story structures.

Ponte Vista, located on 61 acres of land to the west of the Port of Los Angeles, formerly served as the San Pedro Naval Housing complex, which closed in 1997. Redevelopment of the site is being conducted piecemeal by multiple firms. More than 670 homes will be completed when the specific plan is fully built out.
