Nearly three years after breaking ground at the intersection of Olympic Boulevard and Broadway, developer G.H. Palmer Associates is nearing the finish line on a two-building mixed-use complex.
Broadway Palace, designed by Oakes Architects, will feature nearly 680 apartments and over 50,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space on opposite sides of Olympic commercial space when completed. A first phase of the development - a six-story building on the south side of the street - began move-ins earlier this year.
The second phase of the project, located on the north side of the intersection, is highlighted by a 10-story building directly across the street from the popular Ace Hotel, and a connected six-story structure that fronts Main Street.
Palmer, best known for his Italian Renaissance-inspired developments that flank the Harbor Freeway, has departed from this model with his first project in Downtown's core. Broadway Palace features a facade of brick veneer, mimicing the appearance of nearby historic structures.
