Columbia Mills, a nine-building industrial complex in Lincoln Heights, has sold for $20 million to production company Buck Design.

The property, located across the street from the Gold Line's Lincoln Heights Station, features 90,000 square feet of rentable space across more than two acres.  It has operated for over 35 years as the Lacy Street Production Center, and has served as a filming location for Catch Me If You Can, Seabiscuit, Saw and L.A. Confidential.

Buck Design - which has offices in Los Angeles, New York and Sydney - currently operates out of a space in Downtown Los Angeles.  A representative of Buck confirmed that the company purchased the property, and intends to continue operations at the Lacy Street Production Center.

Senior Partner Chris Thompson and Partners Clark Everitt and William Everitt of Investment Real Estate Associates  teamed with Morgan McMullin, Senior Vice President at Partners Trust Commercial to broker the deal.

A 2015 filing with the City of Los Angeles showed that a 250,000-square-foot mixed-use development was previously considered for the property.  The project would have featured new construction and the restoration of historic buildings, resulting in office space, retail and live-work apartments.
