Construction is all but finished for the latest Mid-Wilshire apartment complex from prolific L.A. developer Wiseman Residential.
The mixed-use development, located at 6001-6011 W. Olympic Boulevard, consists of a six-story building containing 57 studio and one-bedroom apartments above 1,200 square feet of ground-floor commercial space. Parking for 36 vehicles is located in a partially-subterranean garage.
Project entitlements include Transit Oriented Communities incentives to permit a larger building than zoning rules normally allow. In exchange, Wiseman will be required to set aside six of the apartments as deed-restricted affordable housing at the extremely low-income level.
Labyrinth Design Studio designed the contemporary podium-type building, which is clad in painted plaster. Plans call for resident amenities including a rooftop deck and a ground-level recreation room.
A leasing profile on Apartments.com indicates that the project is named Ogden Garden.
The housing development is one of three in the works along the nearby stretch of Olympic to the east of Fairfax Avenue, including a smaller multifamily building proposed two blocks east and a mixed-use complex planned across the street.
The site also sits across the street from UCLA's new Mid-Wilshire neuropsychiatric hospital.
