Two years after plans first emerged for a new hotel just near South Park's Pico Station, the project has received City approvals and is now pursuing construction permits.
The proposed development, slated for a single parcel at 1320 S. Flower Street, would consist of a six-story building feature 43 guest rooms, two apartments and various amenities. Accessory features on the property would include parking for 17 vehicles and a rooftop deck.
Irvine-based architecture firm nKlosures is designing the project, which would have a narrow, rectangular form defined by the property line.
Recent years have seen development seep south of Pico Boulevard, with a handful of mid-rise buildings planned or underway along Hope, Flower and Figueroa Streets. The 1320 Flower hotel would sit immediately south of one such project - the second phase of the Onyx apartments from Jade Enterprises.
