A mid-block site between Lexington and Fountain Avenues in East Hollywood is poised for redevelopment with small lot homes, per a recent application to the L.A. Department of City Planning.
The proposed development from applicant Itshak Franco, slated for a vacant lot at 1221 N. Virgil Avenue, calls for subdividing the site to permit the construction of 10 single-family homes. Plans show a series of two- and four-story buildings, each featuring a two-car garage on the ground floor.
Amit Apel Design is the architect attached to the project.
The project site, which is zoned for up to 18 residential units, was previously developed with a pair of duplexes. The land sold for more than $4 million in October 2023.
