In Manhattan Beach, construction is underway for a small mixed-use build on corner lot just west of Aviation Boulevard.
The project at 1701 W. Artesia Boulevard, which replaced two small commercial and residential buildings, is described in promotional materials as consisting of 12 one- and two-bedroom condominiums (including one affordable unit) with a single commercial unit at the ground level and a 20-car garage.
According to a project representative, the condos will range in size from 911 to 1,108 square feet in size, all including in-unit laundry. They will be served by a four-stop elevator providing access to the project's subterranean parking garage, which will include two EV charging stations.
Plans approved in 2022 indicate that the project is being designed by Obelisk Architects. Renderings show a series of interconnected two-story structures, with a small pool deck located at the rear of the site.
Construction of the building is on track to occur in October 2025, according to the promotional materials.
City records list the owner of the site as 1701 Artesia, LLC, a Torrance-based entity. The property is currently listed for sale with an asking price of $20 million.
