Carson's Carriage Crest Park is slated to roughly triple in size by incorporating land leased from the Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts.
Located at the northeast corner of Figueroa Street and Sepulveda Boulevard, the park currently features sports fields, a picnic area, and an activity room on a roughly five-acre property. According to an environmental notice issued by the City of Carson, the approximately 10-acre expansion would modify the existing layout, adding the following elements:
- three baseball fields;
- two soccer fields with dugouts and bleachers;
- two basketball courts;
- a volleyball court;
- three sets of pickleball courts;
- a fitness area;
- a playground area;
- a dog park;
- picnic shelters;
- a concession stand; and
- remote restrooms.
Plans also call for remaking and existing marquee sign at Figueroa Street and Sepulveda Boulevard.
The proposed project, which would create Carson's first dog park, is being designed by RJM Design Group, per a city staff report.
