A property near the Expo Line's Jefferson/USC Station could yield a new apartment building, according to the agenda of next week's meeting of the Los Angeles City Planning Commission.
The proposed development, slated for a nearly half-acre site at 505-517 W. 31st Street, would consist of a seven-story building feature 73 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments - including six units for very-low income households and two units for moderate-income households. Plans also call for 78 parking stalls in a partially subterranean garage.
Hochhauser Blatter Architecture is designing the project, which would feature an exterior of brick, beige stucco, and metal. Floor plans show an interior courtyard at the top of the building's podium level, wrapped with a number of common amenity spaces.
City records link the project to Los Angeles-based Canfield Development.
The Planning Department's staff report recommends approval for the proposed development.
