Culver City has offered up a look at fresh rendering for the Culver Public Market, a long-stymied plan to bring a new commercial center to long-empty lots at the intersection of Washington boulevard and Centinela Avenue.
Last year, the Culver City City Council voted to approve an amended development agreement with Regency Centers for the project, stripping away earlier plans which call for the construction of 13,000 square feet of foot retail and restaurant space, 9,600 square feet of outdoor dining areas, landscaped plazas, and a 122-car garage.
Renderings of the revised plan depict buildings clad in stucco, glass, and metal panels.
Construction of the roughly $24-million development is now expected to commence in Winter 2025, according to a landing page on the Culver City website.
As of last year, Culver City and its Redevelopment Successor Agency have committed $17 million to the project thus far, which is expected to generate $159,800 in annual tax revenue and create 101 permanent jobs.
