Not far from Metro's North Hollywood Station, work has commenced work on a $53-million affordable housing complex.

The Harmony Apartments from Domus Development, located at 11410 Burbank Boulevard, received permits from the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety earlier this year. Plans call for the construction of a six-story edifice featuring 84 studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments above basement parking.

Entitlements include Transit Oriented Communities incentives, permitting a building with greater density, height, and floor area than would otherwise be allowed by zoning rules. Per a staff report to the California Tax Credit Allocation Committee, the apartments are to be reserved for households earning between 30 and 50 percent of the area median income level. Monthly rents would range from $728 to $1,300 per month.

Although Strategic Legacy Investment Group entitled the project, with The Albert Group Architects serving as the project's architect at the time, permit records indicate that KFA Architecture has taken over as architect of record for the now under-construction development.

Century Housing helped provide financing for the project, according to a blog post to the company's website.

The site abuts a similar apartment complex that was completed next door in 2017, and sits just north of the Metro station's park-and-ride lot, which is slated to make way for a mixed-use complex featuring more than 1,500 homes.
