A proposed infill development in Sherman Oaks has survived appeals to the Los Angeles City7 Planning Commission.
On June 26, the Commission voted to deny an appeal of a proposed project at 14723 Magnolia Boulevard, which comes from co-applicants Adam Moloudi and Simin Tolouie Moloudi. Plans approved earlier this year call for the construction of a four-story building featuring 12 apartments atop parking for 12 vehicles.
In exchange for density bonus incentives, plans call for two of the proposed apartments to be set aside for rent by very low-income households.
Daryoush Safai is designing the proposed project, according to plans included with the presentation.
Two appeals, filed by adjacent residents, argued that the project is incompatible with its surroundings due to height and a perceived lack of parking. a Staff report recommend denial of the appeals.
The proposed project was previously envisioned as a smaller three-story, nine-unit apartment building, per documents published by the Sherman Oaks Neighborhood Council.
