After more than three years of construction, G.H. Palmer Associates is nearing the finish line at the two-building Broadway Palace development in Downtown Los Angeles.

The mixed-use project, located at opposite corners of Broadway and Olympic Boulevard, features a combined 686 apartments and more than 50,000 square feet of retail.

Oakes Architects designed the buildings, which was shaped in large part by the City's Broadway design guide, which seeks to maintain the corridor's mid-rise street wall and historic architecture.  Consequently, the project features buildings up to 10 stories in height with a faux brick facade, making it a departure from the Italian Renaissance-inspired apartments that Palmer has developed along the Harbor Freeway.
