A pair of single-family homes in Duarte are poised to give way to a new townhome development, according to a new environmental report.

The project at 1404 Royal Oaks Drive, planned across the street from the Duarte Bike Trail, calls for the construction of 11 townhome units in a series of five interconnected buildings. Plans call for two-story buildings with a total of 28 parking spaces.

Architect Feng Xiao is designing the homes, which are shown in plans with stucco exteriors and concrete tile roofing. The property would include a total of 6,300 square feet of open space, including common lawns in the northern portion of the site and a barbeque area.

Pending the approval of a general plan amendment, a zone change, and other entitlements, construction is expected to occur over a two-year period.

Property records list the owner of the site as the Arcadia-based entity Shuorung Properties, LLC.
