Concrete pillars now protrude above ground level at 1910 W. Temple Street, as developer Trammell Crow Residential continues with the construction of its Alexan South Echo apartments in Historic Filipinotown. 

The project, which officially broke ground in October 2016, will consist of a six-story building featuring 200 market rate apartment above 22,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space and basement parking. 

The mix of studio, one- and two-bedroom units will average 898 square feet in size, and offer balconies and in-unit washer-dryer sets.  Plans also call for communal amenities such as a swimming pool and a fitness center.

Rents will be set between $1,700 and $3,900 per month.

The 1.7-acre mixed-use complex is the first component of a two-phase project.  The second half of the Alexan project will include 47 units of affordable housing in a separate structure.
