Long-stymied plans for a mixed-use development near the Northridge Fashion Center have finally received the go-ahead from the City of Los Angeles, according to the Department of Building and Safety.
The approximately $100-million project, which comes from Orange County-based Shea Properties, will span across a 6.9-acre lot near the intersection of Nordhoff Street and Corbin Avenue. Plans call for a pair of six-story buildings totaling 429 residential units. Plans call for approximately 21,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space below the apartments, as well as in standalone structures. Just over 1,000 parking spaces are planned to serve residents and commercial tenants.
KTGY Architecture + Planning is designing the Northridge mixed-use project, which is shown with twin mid-rise structures surrounding a private park. A flythrough video, seen below, previews the development's retail component.
Shea is also the developer of a new set of townhomes on an adjoining site.
