Five existing homes are set to make way for a new affordable housing complex just south of Ventura Boulevard in Sherman Oaks, according to an application recently filed with the L.A. Department of City Planning.
The proposed project from HVN Development, slated for a site at 14318 W. Dickens Street, calls for the construction of a six-story building featuring 75 one- and two-bedroom apartments. Parking would be provided for four vehicles.
As with other HVN projects, the apartments are to be reserved for rent by low- and moderate-income households. The project is seeking development bonuses through the Citywide Housing Incentive Program.
Stockton Architects, which works on all of HVN Development's projects, is designing the slim podium-type apartment building.
HVN Development is developing numerous affordable housing developments of a similar scale across the City of Los Angeles.
