Construction has commenced for a $33-million senior housing complex in Arcadia, R.D. Olson Construction announced earlier this month.

Ivy Park at Arcadia, which is being developed by Oakmont Senior Living, calls for the construction of a three-story building featuring 100 assisted living and memory care apartments located at 1150 West Colorado Boulevard. The homes will include a mix of studio, one-, and two-bedroom floor plans, as well as affordable units which will be provided in exchange for density bonus incentives approved by the City of Arcadia.

"The San Gabriel Valley is home to one of the most rapidly aging populations in California, yet quality senior living options haven't kept pace with demand," said Bill Wilhelm R.D. Olson president in a news release. "We are proud to partner with Oakmont Senior Living to deliver a purpose-built facility that provides dignity, safety, and community for seniors who reside in the region.

The project, which will rise on the former site of a vacant restaurant, will also include a fitness center, communal spaces, outdoor areas, and parking for 70 vehicles.

The design team for Ivy Park includes  b.hills architecture and STUDIOSIX5.

Completion of the building is expected in Fall 2027.
