A leasing website by Onni Group offers up a brand new rendering for Hope + Flower, a two-tower residential development now rising near Staples Center and L.A. Live.
The project, which wraps an Onni-owned office next to Metro's Pico Station, will consist of mixed-use buildings rising 40 and 31 stories in height. The towers, named for Hope and Flower Streets, will offer 730 rental apartments with 8,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space, various residential amenities, and structured parking for 830 vehicles.
The Vancouver-based architect Chris Dikeakos is designing the Hope + Flower development, which will feature a modern glass exterior wrapped with cantilevered balconies. The buildings will rise to maximum heights of 529 and 421 feet above a shared podium and landscaped outdoor deck.
Hope + Flower is similar in appearance to other high-rise buildings in Onni's growing Downtown portfolio, which includes the 33-story LEVEL Furnished Living development at 888 S. Olive Street and a 50-story apartment tower at 825 S. Hill Street.
Onni Group, which has emerged as one of Southern California's most aggressive builders of multifamily housing in recent years, is also in the midst of upgrading a historic building on the Broadway corridor into office space, and has plans for high-rise towers on Olympic Boulevard, in the Arts District, and adjacent to the home of the Los Angeles Times. The company has also set its sights on Hollywood, with proposals for a 21-story tower on Vine Street and a mid-rise apartment building on Santa Monica Boulevard, and has holdings in Newport Beach and Glendale as well.
The Hope + Flower project joins a number of towering mixed-use developments that have recently sprouted in South Park, including the Circa and Oceanwide Plaza complexes which sit directly across Flower Street. Also under construction just one block north along Hope is a 28-story residential-retail tower that was also designed by Dikeakos.
Completion of Hope + Flower is expected in 2019, according to the leasing website.
