A pair of low-slung apartment buildings Mar Vista could make way for new affordable housing complex HVN Development, per a recent application to the Los Angeles Department of City Planning.
Slated for a property at 11848 Venice Boulevard, the proposed project calls for clearing all existing improvements to make way for the construction of a new five-story edifice featuring 81 one-bedroom apartments without on-site parking.
Exact income targets for the project are not specified, although other HVN developments typically aim for low- and moderate-income renters. The project would avail itself of development incentives through the citywide housing incentive program to permit a larger structure than otherwise allowed by zoning rules.

Stockton Architects is designing the contemporary stucco-clad building, which is similar in appearance to other HVN projects with the company.
HVN also has plans for a smaller 49-unit building along Centinela Avenue elsewhere in Mar Vista.
