In Long Beach, wood framing is taking shape for a new affordable housing complex from Jamboree Housing Corporation just east of the A Line.
The project at 101 E. Pacific Coast Highway, named The 101 for its address, consists of a five-story building which will eventually feature 52 one- and two-bedroom apartments above parking for 20 vehicles.
Jamboree Housing will reserve the apartments for renters earning up to 30 percent of the area median income level.
Y&M Architects is designing the contemporary podium-type building, which will also include a community room, offices for on-site staff, and an outdoor amenity area.
Jamboree financed the more than $40-million project using a mix of state, local, and private sources.
Other upcoming projects from the Orange County-based development firm include an affordable housing complex slated for a Metro-adjacent property in Duarte.
