A new affordable housing complex has commenced work on a corner lot in South Los Angeles, per social media posts from developer Eleos.
Located at 5637 S. Broadway, the project calls for the construction of a new four-story building featuring 36 low-income apartments and one market-rate unit for an on-site manager.
Eleos entitled the site using Transit Oriented Communities incentives to permit a larger structure than otherwise allowed by zoning rules.
Architectural plans depict the project, named for its address at 5637 S. Broadway, as a contemporary low-rise building.
Eleos is developing similar affordable housing projects at several sites in Los Angeles, and recently completed a 53-unit complex not far away at 47th and Main Streets.
