Construction is underway for a new affordable housing complex just south of the 105 Freeway in Watts, according to recent social media posts from developer Eleos.
The project, located on a corner lot on the east side of Central Avenue at 1201 E. 119th Street, calls for the construction of a new four-story building that will feature 70 studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments without on-site parking.
Eleos will set aside the apartments for households earning between 30 and 80 percent of the area median income level.
A rendering of the completed project depicts a contemporary low-rise structure clad in different shades of stucco.
Completion of the building is expected in early 2028.
Eleos has completed projects in Boyle Heights and South Los Angeles over the past year, and started work on a new development along South Broadway.
