Jerry's Motel is no more in City West, and a larger boutique hotel is set to rise in its place. 

The new project, located at 285 Lucas Avenue, is known as the Metric Hotel.  Plans call for a five-story building that will feature 28 guest rooms and amenities.

According to the property owner, the new hotel will be marketed as a less-expensive alternative to Downtown visitors, offering lower rates than the chain establishments located on the other side of the Harbor Freeway. 

The Metric will be built using modular building components, wrapped with glass and steel.  Aaron Neubert Architects is designing the project.
