In Glendale, Linc Housing Corp. and National CORE have announced the completion of the largest affordable housing development in the City's history.
Pioneer Village named for its location just south of the 134 Freeway at 515 Pioneer Drive, includes 340 studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments. With the exception of on-site manager units, the property is reserved for seniors and families earning between 30 and 80 percent of the area median income level.
KFA Architecture the project, which consists of interconnected five-story buildings with courtyards, community gardens, rooftop decks, and children's play areas.
"Pioneer Village brings seniors and families together in an intergenerational community, giving residents the opportunity to deepen their roots in Glendale and build more stable futures," said Linc Housing president Suny Lay Chang in a news release. "That is the heart of Linc's work: creating homes where people feel secure, connected and part of a community."
The project, which was completed in July, received more than 7,500 unique applications.
