Pasadena-based Panoptic Development has unveiled a rendering for a proposed mixed-use development near the Orange Line in Warner Center.
The proposed residential-retail complex, slated for a current parking lot at the northwest corner of Canoga Avenue and Vanowen Street, calls for the construction of a six-story building featuring 154 rental apartments above ground-floor retail space and two levels of basement parking.
Ken Stockton Architects, Inc. is designing the mid-rise structure, which will include a mix of studio, one-, and two-bedroom dwellings, in addition to common spaces such as a fitness center and a dog park.
The project site sits directly across the street from a 47-acre site that formerly housed a manufacturing facility for the aerospace firm Rocketdyne. Triple Five Group Ltd., the owner of Mall of America, is reportedly in talks to buy the sprawling vacant property.
Panoptic anticipates breaking ground on their project at 6801 Canoga Avenue in Summer 2018.
