After leaving the project unfinished for an extended period of time, Jamison Services appears to be officially pulling the plug on a new hotel just south of Wilshire Boulevard in Koreatown. The new plan? Affordable housing.
In an application filed earlier this month with the Department of City Planning, a Jamison-affiliated entity proposes the construction of a seven-story, 114-unit apartment complex at 679 S. Harvard Boulevard. The proposed project would include a mix of one- and two-bedroom units, split between low- and moderate-income renters. An application indicates that no on-site parking is planned.
Jamison would utilizes streamlined approvals and development bonuses through the citywide housing incentive program.
Plans were not uploaded to the project case file.
Jamison, which recently launched an affordable housing affiliate called Arden Residential, is partnering with Kennedy Wilson on projects that will generate roughly 4,000 homes in the Los Angeles area. The developer has recently opted to re-entitle sites previously approved for market-rate buildings in Central Los Angeles as affordable housing.
