A 1960s hotel in Encino could meet with the wrecking ball, as its owner pursues a larger development on the site.

Yesterday, DKN Hotels filed plans with the City of Los Angeles to raze the 70-key Sherman Hotel at 15485 W. Ventura Boulevard a larger building with 158 guest rooms in its place.

DKN, which is based out of Irvine, owns nine hotels in multiple counties across Southern California.

Additional details about their plans for Ventura Boulevard are currently unclear.
